Equestrian Experience
Our popular Equestrian Experience is a well-rounded educational program, designed for the whole family. Some sessions are just for kids, other's include adults. Each program is thoughtfully tailored to the ages listed. Learn the basics of horse care, safety, western riding, and enjoy a guided trail ride through the Bunker Hills Regional Park. Please see below for upcoming dates, details, and additional requirements.
Registration in advance is required. Class space is limited; call our office today to register!
What is included:

1 hour in the barn
-
1 hour riding lesson in the indoor arena

1 hour trail ride
Details:

The first hour is spent in the barn learning horse safety, grooming and saddling
-
Arena and Trail rides are instructor led and walk-only
-
Equestrian Experience is designed as a group activity, students need to be able to complete tasks independently under the guidance of the instructors. Instructors need to divide their time equally between all the students to ensure everyone progresses and has a positive experience.

Riders are required to mount and dismount unassisted from a mounting block
-
Helmets are required for riders 17 and under, but are available to anyone who wants one
-
Cameras and cell phones are not permitted while riding, but we are happy to take pictures for you before or after your ride!

We can not take same day registration. Plan well in advance, classes fill quickly

All riders must be at least 8 years old and 52 inches tall, no exceptions.

Weight limit 225 pounds

Heights and weights of each rider are required at time of registration. We need exact heights and weights for each individual rider. Estimates are not acceptable.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your class time to ensure adequate time for check-in.

Special Needs & Limitations Notice
For the safety and comfort of all riders, please inform us in advance of any special needs, medical conditions, physical limitations, or neurodiversity’s that may affect your ability to participate in horseback riding activities. At Bunker Park Stable, rider safety is our top priority. Horse riding requires a certain level of physical ability, including balance, strength, and coordination to maintain control and respond to the horse's movements in an indoor and outdoor setting. Please take a moment to carefully consider your individual needs and abilities, as horseback riding may not be suitable for everyone. Please understand that this decision is made solely with your safety and wellbeing in mind. Arena/trail environments can be unpredictable, and we are committed to ensuring that every participant, and every horse, remains secure and comfortable throughout the experience.
Attire:

Long pants and closed-toed shoes are required to ride

No sandals, flip-flops, crocs, or anything that could fall off the foot

Dress for the weather

Ponchos and umbrellas are not permitted on rides. Rain jackets are fine!

Close-fitting hats or ear bands are recommended if wearing a helmet in the winter
-
Hats with pompoms and tassels mess with the fit and safety of riding helmets.

Cancellations and adjustments must be made a minimum of 1 week before the time of class to receive a refund.

All activities go rain or shine, unless we determine weather is too inclement to ride. Please assume your activity is still going unless you hear otherwise from our office.
PeeWee Equestrian Experience
Ages 6-8 | 2 hours | $70/person

What is included:

1 hour in the barn

30 min. riding lesson in the indoor arena

30 min. trail ride

Designed with our youngest riders in mind

Students will be riding full sized horses, designated specifically for our peewee program

Arena and Trail rides are instructor led and walk-only

Equestrian helmets are required for riders and will be provided

Parents are not permitted in the barn or on trail, but are welcome to take photos from outside of the arena
