Trail Rides

Enjoy a relaxing, guided trail ride through the Bunker Hills Regional Park. The scenery on our trails is a mixture of forest and open prairie. Please see below for additional requirements. All trail rides are by reservation only; call our office today to schedule a ride!

All trails are guided and walk-only

Riding and safety instructions are provided prior to the start of the ride

Trail rides are approximately 1 hour, including your mounting and dismounting time

Riders are required to mount and dismount unassisted from a mounting block

Helmets are required for riders 17 and under, but are available to anyone who wants one

Cameras and cell phones are not permitted on the ride, but we are happy to take pictures for you before your ride!

Please note September - March is our busy hayride season, we are limited when it comes to booking large groups and adult riders as many of our trail horses are reserved for wagons/sleighs. Please call our office for availability. Thank you for understanding.
Reservations
Requirements:

Reservations required at least 1 day in advance for all rides

We can not take same day reservations. Plan well in advance, we fill up quickly

Currently offered every day except Mondays and Tuesdays

All riders must be at least 8 years old and 52 inches tall
-
We understand there is a gray area where your child may not meet the requirements for a pony ride or a trail ride and may have to wait until they can ride. These requirements are in place to provide a fun and safe experience for both your child and our horses/ponies.

Weight limit 250 pounds

Heights and weights of each rider are required at time of reservation

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled ride to ensure adequate time for check-in and riding demonstrations

Full payment will be taken at time of booking

We can accommodate in most cases, but for safety purposes we must be informed at the time of the reservation so we can schedule staffing appropriately.

At our discretion, additional charges for extra staffing may apply to ensure the safety of your ride.
Cancellation Policy
-
Cancellations and adjustments must be made 48 hours before the time of your reservation to receive a refund or to reschedule, you will have 60 days to complete your ride. You are allowed 1 reschedule.

For trail rides of 5 or more people, cancellation must be made 1 week prior to your reservation in order to receive a refund. A 48 hour notice is required to make any changes, this may include time adjustments, final numbers, or a reschedule. At this point you are responsible for the full amount due. If your group reschedules, you must complete your ride within 60 days. You are allowed 1 reschedule.

All activities go rain or shine, unless we determine weather is too inclement to ride. Please assume your activity is still going unless you hear otherwise from our office.

If you are coordinating a group of riders, you are responsible for the number of riders on the reservation 48 hours before the time of your ride. Any adjustments must be made prior to that time.
Attire

Long pants and closed-toed shoes are required to ride

No sandals, flip-flops, crocs, or anything that could fall off the foot

Dress for the weather

Ponchos and umbrellas are not permitted on rides. Rain jackets are fine!

Close-fitting hats or ear bands are recommended if wearing a helmet in the winter
-
Hats with pompoms and tassels mess with the fit and safety of riding helmets.

Private Trail Rides
$70.00 + tax

Ensures your ride will consist of just your group and our guides. Minimum of 2 riders required.

Walk-only trail

All requirements are still the same as our regular group trails

Limited availability as staffing permits. Depending on the day/season we can not guarantee availability of private rides.
